Live Authentic

Let’s be honest.  Most people today portray a pretty unauthentic version of themselves to the world.  With our overwhelming number of social media accounts, anyone can create an online presence of their ideal selves.  We try to paint a picture of our lives that convince all those who look on, that everything is perfect, or as close to perfect as it could be.  I fall into this trap all too often, comparing myself to other’s false portrayals of themselves.  The truth is that comparison steals our joy, and it’s not fare to ourselves or to others.

I’ve been challenged lately not to portray only the picture perfect moments of life.  That our community could use a healthy dose of authenticity.  I want to be true to myself, and inspire others to do the same.  An Abundant Life isn’t one that falls into the trap of comparison.  It’s a life that is true to one’s authentic self, and all the joy, hardship, and adventure that comes with it.  We weren’t created to be someone else, but to be true to ourselves and fulfill a specific purpose.

So this post is the beginning of our Real Talk posts. I hope to write a post once in a while that features authenticity.  Stories from my our own lives as well as others.

Let me know if you have any idea’s for this section of the blog.  I’d love to hear your feedback!
