While in Central Spain we ventured to Toledo with the desire to experience the tranquil lifestyle that saturates the small cobblestone streets of this quaint town. Toledo, just south of Madrid, is known as the “City of Three Cultures”, as well as it’s fame for the design and production of Spanish knives and swords. Toledo is very unique, a small city that has been influenced greatly by three religions (Christianity, Islam, and Judaism) throughout its history. Though these three religious cultures have historically clashed due to their differing beliefs, Toledo is a beautiful example of these three religions coexisting with peace and respect.

We explored each area with curiosity and an open mind; we found beauty with every turn.  For the best view of the city, which you can see in the last picture of our spread, climb to the top floor of the city’s free public library and capture the sun-kissed skyline at dusk.
